KENOSHA, Wis. (WLIP) — World Series champion and Kenosha native Gavin Lux received a special birthday present Saturday as local officials proclaimed November 23 “Gavin Lux Day” throughout Kenosha County.

The Los Angeles Dodgers player, who turned 27 on Saturday, was honored in a ceremony at his alma mater, Indian Trail High School.

Kenosha Mayor David Bogdala and County Executive Samantha Kerkman presented Lux with a joint proclamation during the event held in the school gymnasium.

Lux, who recently earned his second World Series ring with the Dodgers, expressed gratitude for the recognition from his hometown.

The Indian Trail High School graduate has maintained strong ties to the southeastern Wisconsin community where he grew up, even as his professional baseball career has flourished in Los Angeles.
