Kenosha Man Pleads Guilty In Fatal Hit-And-Run Of Earlier Crash Suspect
KENOSHA, Wis. (WLIP) — A 75-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday in a bizarre chain of hit-and-run crashes that left a fleeing suspect dead along a Kenosha County highway last summer.
William Koprovic faces sentencing in February for the June 25, 2023, incident that killed Scott Mingilino Jr., 36, who was himself suspected in an earlier hit-and-run that same day.
According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, Mingilino had fled the scene after driving the wrong way and crashing head-on into a semi-truck on Green Bay Road.
Hours later, as Mingilino walked along Highway 158, he was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by Koprovic, who also left the scene.
Deputies discovered Mingilino’s body and observed a vehicle parked on the shoulder that drove away.
After authorities released dashcam footage of the suspect vehicle on social media, Koprovic turned himself in to investigators.
